Has anyone ever had Hashimoto's and Graves Disease at the same time? If yes, what was the treatment plan? I just found out on Friday that I have both. I have three small children and just scared about the outcome. Any advice would be lovely.

Hashimoto's and Graves same time...
I am new to thyroid issues, but was just diagnosed with hashi's and am in the testing phase to see if anything else is going on. So don't personally have both, but have just started seeing a functional medicine doc and using this site, both have been very helpful. From what I've learned so far, with graves, keeping track of your heart rate is important to make sure it doesn't go to high. If it goes to high, a beta blocker is needed to lower heart rate. With thyroid, going gluten free is very helpful. I'm on my third day with no gluten and feel a huge difference already. My functional med doc also recommended no soy and trying no dairy to see if there's a difference with dairy as some do ok and others don't. I've found a lot of good videos on YouTube (maybe search "graves and hashimotos") and hopeforhashimotos.com has a good video series about hashi's but believe it applies to general thyroid too. Sorry I don't know more and am not on meds yet or know if I will be, awaiting more test results. But imagine just being diagnosed is scary, especially with three little ones, so wanted to comment and offer a little support with what I've learned so far. Good luck and hopefully someone that knows more will see and post. xx
Yes my husband did but we only found out years after a thyroidectomy
1970s and endos then not much better than today and no internet to help either
For my husband only NDT works for his hypothyroid
I would guess block and replace would be one way of treating your problem although total thyroidectomy is favoured in certain scandinavian countries and they might be right
