I'm sorry Angybabe and welcome to our forum. I'm sorry you have now been diagnosed with osteoporosis too.
If you could give some background, i.e. what thyroid hormones you take and dose(s).
As you are fit and active it would seem your dose of hormones suit you.
Hi,thank you. I'm on Levothyroxine 125 and 150 mcgm on alternate days. Am now on Adcal D3 X2 daily and Risedronate 35mg one a week. Am very careful with timings as am aware of calcium affecting thyroxine. Whole day of reminder alarms on phone. Sundays the most challenging working with the Risedronate, but hey small price to pay for otherwise being alive and well in myself. Apparently my spine is that of an old lady, only discovered when I fell locking my car and smashed my hip last October.
Thought I may be able to support others facing radioactive iodine treatment.
Angybabe You may wish to take a look at the website of Dr Sarah Myhill - who has excellent advice regarding osteoporosis. Calcium is not always all it is cracked up to be Bone is made of many things.
