Clairead,

Can you post your recent thyroid results and ranges (figures in brackets after results)?

If you are optimally medicated the knee and calf pain may not be hypo related and you should have your GP investigate.

In the meantime, try a magnesium citrate supplement, magnesium oil spray on your feet and legs, and an Epsom Salts bath before bedtime to help relax your muscles.

I would suspect one or more of the following :

Low levels of :

1) Iron

2) Magnesium

3) Potassium

4) T3

5) Vitamin D

6) Vitamin B12

Has GP checked levels of vitamin d, b12, folate and ferratin. These all need to at good (not just average) levels for thyroid hormones (our own or replacement ones) to work in our cells.

As Humanbean says, if you have any of these results, post them (include ranges)

You are entitled to copies of your own results. Some surgeries make nominal charge for printing out. Alternatively you can now ask for online access to your own medical records. Though not all surgeries can do this yet, or may not have blood test results available yet online

If you can not get GP to do these tests, then like many of us, you can get them done privately

If you can't get GP to test - then like many of us you can get tested privately

Blue Horizon - Thyroid plus eleven tests all these.

This is an easy to do fingerprick test you do at home, post back and they email results to you couple of days later.

Usual advice on ALL thyroid tests, (home one or on NHS) is to do early in morning, ideally before 9am. No food or drink beforehand (other than water) If you are taking Levo, then don't take it in 24 hours before (take straight after). This way your tests are always consistent, and it will show highest TSH, and as this is mainly all the medics decide dose on, best idea is to keep result as high as possible

I'm not sure what are bloods are but I have had them done about a month ago and had to go up 25mg of thyroxine which is odd as it hadn't changed for about a year now take 175mg.

I wonder if stress can alter things as I am worrying about other things at the minute.

What the pain is like is if I have done loads of exercise and haven't stretched out after but it's after 400 yards. Lol

Thank you for your help.
