Three days without hypothyroid pills, what will happen??

So I haven't been taking my levothyroxine for about three days because I'm out and there is a problem with my insurance. I'm on a 50 and I was just wondering if there is anything that will happen like side effects that I should look out for with not being on them for three days

Three days probably won't make much difference. 50 is only a starter dose. How long have you been on it? Just as long as you get back on it pretty quickly, there shouldn't be any consequences. And if there are, it will just be your usually hypo symptoms. :)

I've been on them for about 14 years

14 years on 50 mcg??? Do you have a copy of your labs to share with us?

Anyway, in that case, it could well be that you'll feel better off levo for a few days. But, be warned, it won't last.

So make it easy for Theatrenerd, let her know a few good ones.

You probably won't start feeling really ill for a couple of weeks, maybe longer. On a dose of 50 you are most certainly producing some hormone yourself, which makes it difficult to predict. But you will start feeling tired and cold, and then the weight will pile on....

Levothyroxine is pretty cheap, and obtainable online without prescription. If you think this is going to go on for a while it might be a good idea to buy some to keep you going.

Really, Levo w/o prescription? That certainly would be the way for Theatrenerd to go, but I thought you needed a 'script. You should PM her your source.

I was going to suggest she tries T3 only since her dose is so small and she could certainly get that online, cheap and w/o 'script.

Its a bit grey, but I have seen it advertised on a couple of sites.

If levo works I wouldn't go off piste - its creates so much hassle with doctors!
