Apologies in advance, but I thought this might be the best place to ask!
The last few weeks leading up to bloods confirming Hyperthyroidism... I have been passing yellow stools... I am coeliac, but I have deco not been 'glutened'... So i know it isn't that...
Could hyperthyroidism cause this?

Light coloured stools can be the gall bladder, as Angel of the North says. Apparently many of us have gall stones that do not really effect us, apart from the stools. An MRI for something else showed I had a nice collection, but they dont cause me any problems so they can stay there.
Thanks, yes... when I was diagnosed celiac 3.5 years ago, they scanned my gallbladder, but there was nothing there.... I hoping there is still nothing there! I guess they are not pale, more like a dark yellow/orangey.
Dear me, I never thought I'd be discussing these things with strangers!!! Lovely as you all are!
I had a viscersal massage today, my liver was hard and 'blocked' so that has been released... Might help...
Just an update, for anyone that might come across the post. After the visceral massage, (where my liver I'm told was blocked and hard), my poop has returned to normal
Hello, thank you so much for posting - I was just about to ask the community about yellow stools as I have them too and have just been diagnosed hyperthyroid. I hope you are well.
I see a Practioner of Japanese medicine in Iver, Buckinghamshire... He is fantastic, known him for years. Visceral massage, is draining and tonifying the organs (Liver, Spleen) and releasing the valves of the colon (ICV, Houston) just with the hands. He has also advised some herbs which I start today. I felt dreadful before I saw him, diagnosed 3 weeks ago HYPER. I had some acupuncture etc, a body balance (realignment) and visceral massage. Felt brilliant next day, up and about like nothing (previously in bed). Heart rate also came down a big notch too.
I'm also having very yellow stools and I just found out my NP Thyroid that I am taking 75 MCG, the T3 reading is 6.0, should be 4.8. as this just started 3 days ago I'm assuming that it is the high level of T3. I'm hoping that all that's all it is. Or possibly that I just started taking apple cider vinegar capsules but only one a day. I'm going to the doctor Monday.
