Levothyroxine at bedtime
Sprout,
Levothyroxine can be taken any time of day or night but it does need to be taken 1 hour before, or 2 hours after, food and drink, 2 hours away from other medication and supplements, and 4 hours away from calcium, iron, vitamin D and oestrogen.
Very cute dog
I was informed by my doctor last month that I should take my full dose of 3x25 mcg Levothyroxine first thing in the morning ( I'd been taking at night ) and leave an hour before taking blood pressure meds (Lercandiprine & Bisoprol) then Wait 1/2 hour before having any food or drink. My bloods are going to be rechecked in September. I've had 1/2 right thyroid removed in April for stage 1 cancer
Many people prefer bedtime dosing. Your stomach has to be empty and if you've eaten a fatty meal about 3 hours should elapse between it and levo.
take it away from iron calcium vit d, I have taken it & ndt at night for years
