So when I was 8 I started getting what I thought were just a couple of head rushes. But then even when I slowed down it would give me a short headache. Years later, I still get them. But now I groan and squeal because they hurt more.
I also get dizzy spells, first doctors said they didn't know but one day a Dietician said it may have been Anxiety. But when I started researching I found out that dizzy spells and my random headaches can be linked to a brain tumor.
My final query is sometimes (but mostly when I eat Fish and Chips) when I swallow food I have trouble getting it down. When I searched this up I found someone suggesting something to do with their thyroid.
I don't want a brain tumor, or a thyroid problem...

Hi, research can be a wonderful but also scary thing. You need to go to the doctors explain how you feel, and get some blood tests done. Persist if you get fobbed off. Ask for the thyroid tests then post on here. There are so many brilliant knowledgeable people on here, they will guide you. As for the headaches the doctor ( from experience) will ask you the last time you got your eyes tested. Again get that done if you haven't had a recent test - just so that you are not fobbed off. There are many reasons for headaches and if you are worried you need to keep at your doctor. Again this is from experience. All the best.
I have always experienced strange head whooshes which became progressively more pronounced after starting Levothyroxin 5 years ago. After changing meds and getting thyroid hormones balanced, head whooshes are almost non existent.
I still suffer balance issues & dizziness if thyroid hormones becomes low or I over do things. My weird head whooshes have never hurt or given me a headache, just felt like effervescent bubbles popping my head.
Are you exhibiting any symptoms re thyroid issues?
For a clear picture of thyroid function TSH, T4 & T3 is needed. GP's don't usually test T3 so members use private labs & post results complete with ranges (numbers in brackets) for members to comment.
Always get your blood test done at the very earliest and its a fasting test although you can drink water. This allows the TSH (which doctors appear to refer to only) to be at its highest. If on thyroid hormones allows 24 hours approx between last dose and test and take it afterwards.
So get your eyes examined if you haven't had a check up in the last 2 years, and if you haven't been to the dentist in the past 18 months go there to have a full check up as well as both eye and jaw problems can cause headaches.
There are lots of causes of dizzy spells the most common actually is simply not eating regularly, eating enough when you do eat and even being dehydrated.
So ensure you start with these simple things. (In fact you can even keep a food diary for 5 days noting what you eat. Also note whether you have any headaches or dizzy spells and what you were doing at the time in it.)
Also make sure, if possible, you know your family history as far as diseases go - as you are more likely to have something your mother, father, a sibling, aunt, uncle, grandparent or other blood relation has.
Once you know all this only then bother going to the GP as they themselves will start eliminating the simple things and won't test you. If you can explain to them (and even show them the food diary) you have already eliminated these things then they may actually do some blood tests on you. If you do have blood tests get a copy of the results and ranges this is your right under the Data Protection Act 1998. If the GP practice is awkward about giving you the results post here for advice.
If you have the money you can get MRI scans done of your head without a doctor's referral. I have never done it myself, and I can't give you any links, but I know they can be expensive. But it can be done.
I had a private MRI on my head after intense weird head whooshes early last year (at a Nuffield Hospital) ... after the "before and after consultation" & MRI, I left nearly £1000.00 lighter ! ! ...
Result ... nothing to be seen or diagnosed (which I an obviously pleased about ) .... but .....
