I have what they think is post partun thyroiditis!! My free t4 is at 30.7 it was 31.4 in Feb ... My free t3 is 10.3 and was 12.2 ... They want to put me on meds which I want to avoid due to side effects!! From what iv read you should wait up to 12 month for postpartum thyroid to normalise ... Any advice would be greatly appreciated xx are these level dangerously high !! I'm not sure of the health risks .. I'm not that symptomatic just have odd days of feeling rubbish ..

Anderson734,
Why not try the medication? Not everyone has side effects. A low dose o Carbimazole should be sufficient to drop your levels into normal range. There is an increased risk of atrial fibrillation and osteoporosis when FT4 and FT3 levels are over range for a long time. 9-18 months on anti-thyroid drugs is often long enough to regulate the thyroid and try for remission.

I was diagnosed with post partum hypothyroidism 13 years ago - my TSH was 72. I think if I'd had access to all the information that is available mow, I would have kicked it into touch.
Making sure that you are not deficient in any of the crucial minerals and vitamins will help you to recover faster. Early on it is easier to reverse - just make sure your ferritin levels are healthy - I was very anaemic and it wasn't picked up - so mine just got worse and worse over the years.
Good luck - you have found a great group here and it should help you to find everything you need to live well!
