Hi, liposomal is supposed to be the best - as it is with vitamins - but it's pricey. I buy Nature's Best tumeric which is the most potent I've found at a reasonable price.

Regards, Katy

Please research the difference between curcumin and turmeric. Curcumin is derived from turmeric and is the most active ingredient...you need to take a lot of turmeric to get the anti-inflammatory and other anti-oxidant benefits. Look for a brand with bioperine, which is a pepper derivative and enhances the beneficial effects. Not cheap, but I have found curcumin a very effective alternative to diclofenac for pain relief, and only need 2 per day to keep it in control. A specialist told me many years ago that turmeric on its own is the not sufficiently concentrated. Nevertheless I'm sure it works for many, just not for me!

Hi Tippet 18

Please can you recommend a brand as I would love to come off my high strength co-codamol. Many thanks.

Hi! I buy Vitaworld Curcuma from Amazon - £34 for 3 jars of120 capsules each - 1,000 mg curcumin and 10 mg bioperine, plus 3 B vitamins. amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B00.... Sometimes I need to take an extra when my joints or bursitis really ache but 2 generally keeps things under control. I think it does take a bit of time to build up a 'store' in your system - ie relief isn't immediate. Good luck with it! Much better than taking co-codamol or other prescription drug!
