Hi,I had my first endo appointment two weeks ago. She tested my cortisol and said she could guarantee it would be low and that I had adrenal fatigue. I have just had my results but I don't know what they mean as I don't go back for three months. Does this mean I am ok?
Thanks

It doesn't mean anything at all. Inconclusive, because they don't give the ranges. They say that you are over-medicated with levo, because your TSH is low. But your FT4 doesn't look to be over most ranges, so you aren't over-medicated. Resist all attempts to lower your dose! Dosing by the TSH is a sure way to keep the patient sick.
Your cortisol... impossible to guess. You need the range to know if it's low, high or in the middle.
The medical establishment do not recognise the implications of inadequate cortisol unless it is low enough to diagnose Addisons Disease. The best you can hope for is a stim test where they will administer ACTH to assess the adrenals response. If considered inadequate they may offer hydrocortisone or other steroid.
Many members improve their own adrenal health with a healthy life style & good diet and supplements known to help cortisol issues such as adaptogens and adrenal glandulars.
Your consultant says you are slightly over replaced (in her eyes) but will leave med dose as it is.
Thanks, kind of useless waiting 8 months for this appointment. I had my hopes up she is a highly recommended endo who treats adrenals. She has told me I have me/cfs , adrenal fatigue and to pace myself not overdo things. gave me a link to her website, see you in three months! I've had enough!
I suspect I saw the same endo privately in Jan this year. I took along my private Thyroid and cortisol results. She said she thought I had Adrenal Fatigue but didn't say anything above my high thyroid antibody count, I suspect because my TSH was only 3.2. She said she wanted to refer me to her clinic at Salford Royal because I needed a lot of tests. When I finally got my app. 4mths later I saw a male consultant who said I had CFS and to pace myself. He referred me to see a physio and some cognitive therapy. I received the Dr. letter saying my blood test and cortisol test were normal and I didn't need to see him again. I am so disappointed but should have known most Endo's are useless.
best way to check your cortisol levels is to have a 4 point saliva test which involves spitting into a tube at different times of the day. A lot of us use Genova Diagnostics
