Most hypo folk feel well if TSH is about 1 or just below and T4 and T3 in the upper half of the ranges.

hshimama Who was this specialist? An endocrinologist? If it was he's not making any sense.

In a treated hypo patient the aim is to get TSH (not T4) to 1 or below or wherever is needed for FT4 and FT3 to be in the upper part of their ranges.

With Hashimoto's the ideal place for your antibodies to be is below the range. TPO range usually looks something like <34 and TG antibodies <115 but ranges can differ between labs. Antibodies fluctuate with Hashi's and when they're high that's when antibodies are attacking your thyroid.

hshimama As you have Hashimoto's then you may be symptomatic at the moment if your antibodies are high and attacking your thyroid.

Most Hashi's patients find that going gluten free helps enormously as it helps reduce the antibody attacks, as does supplementing with selenium.

If you have Hashi's, then you need your TSH suppressed.
