Hi I would like to find out more about using T3 to treat hypothyroidism. I have been on leveroixine for about 6 years, and still have symptoms.

Carrielaz,
If you post your recent thyroid results with ranges (the figures in brackets after results) members will advise whether you are optimally medicated.
If FT3 is low Liothyronine (T3) in combination with Levothyroxine can be helpful.
If your GP can't order FT3 you can order finger prick home tests from Blue Horizon and Genova via thyroiduk.org.uk/tuk/testin... Blue Horizon Profile 11 includes ferritin, vitamin D, B12 and folate which are useful to evaluate as hypothyroid patients are often low/deficient which can cause symptoms similar to hypothyroid symptoms.
Email louise.warvill@thyroiduk.org.uk for a list of member recommended endocrinologists and private doctors.
