Hello, still very new to all this and I was wondering if someone might be able to help with some questions I have.
I have just this week received my info pack from Thyroid UK, and was very interested to read about Adrenals by Barry Peatfield.
I wondered about getting mine tested, I never have, but I do not want to go to my GP again as he already thinks I'm a hypochondriac! I was wondering if anyone knew where to get them tested privately, and also recommend somewhere. I would also like to know I bit more about what the testing entails and what results I should be looking for.
I have an appointment with an NHS Endo in two weeks, so don't know if I could have them privately & get results by the time I see him.
Thank you very much if you can help.

Though Thyroid UK's website you will find a tests section and this shows all the tests you can order privately through TUK. Adrenal testing is included. It's unlikely you'll get this through your GP or endo. As far as I'm aware, the NHS only test for Addisons Disease or Cushings Syndrome, which are extreme forms of adrenal disease. But please someone correct me if I'm wrong here.
I had mine done by Genova via the Thyroid UK website. It involves taking four saliva samples at regular intervals during the day so is pretty simple. I seem to remember the results took about 3 weeks to come through (back in September last year). Hope this helps.
