Been feeling utterly ill for about 2-3 weeks. Bloods have come back hyperthyroid. Not sure if I have something horrible going on or if its just too much meds but feel like death warmed up

Hypo gone hyperthyroid
If you post your test results, with reference ranges, and any previous ones to compare, members can comment. Also your symptoms.
My TSH is undetectable, below 0.01, my T4 is 20 - range 10 - 24, my T3 is 13 range 1 - 3. My symptoms are dizziness, flu like pains, frequent thirst and urination, exhausted, pain in my chest area and shortness of breath. They have checked my heart and all looks fine.
I'm taking 100mg t4 (and 25 mg t3) but not all the time. Have stopped all meds as from today's results.
My t3 went up very high previously when I was on T3 only but I never felt this sick
I may not have the T3 reference range exact but as you can see it's far too high.
Have you been tested for anitbodies? That's a very weird T3 result considering your T4. Did they recheck it? Mistakes can happen.
sallypg It's hard to comment as there doesn't seem to be the full picture here. It would make it easier for members to help if you tell us
1) any previous results with ranges and details of what meds you were on at the time
2) when you started to add T3. As you are taking 25mcg they're not NHS prescribed so are you self medicating?
3) what were your results that prompted you to start taking T3?
4) what dose of T3 did you start on and how did you increase it ie time frame and dose increase?
5) are your latest tests (the one where FT3 is 13) private or done through your GP?
6) if done through your GP what does he say about your FT3 being 13, and does he know you are taking T3
You need your meds adjusting, don't take any T3 for the moment, then let's see some new tests to see where your levels are and members can advise on meds and maybe supplements.
Have you ever had Vit D, B12, ferritin and folate tested. It's important to have those all at optimal levels for any thyroid medication to work. Also antibody tests would be useful to see if you have Hashimoto's. Maybe even an adrenal test.
Hi sallypg , it might be worth checking for Hashimotos as we swing from Hypo to Hyper. Best of luck 👍🏼
What was your tsp prior to this? It is .01 now with these symptoms? How much levi and for how long have you been on it?
Sallypg,
How long did you leave between last dose and thyroid test? Taking T3 prior to your blood test would give a high result as the T3 peaks in your blood.
Hi Clutter, yes I did think of that, was about 4 hours afterwards. Would my TSH have been so suppressed though?
