A small victory...... well it feels like it...

An update on my situation.....First of all my Vitamin D levels are fine, but i sat down with my doc, we discussed a few things, but the main is that he agrees, normal doesn't necessarily mean normal. He agreed because my levels are in range then i need to be treated as an individual person and not just because there in the range.

So i'm been upped 25mcg to 75mcg of Levothyroxine, along with a month of Folic Acid, then bloods again in 3-4 months and review.

feeling listened too, at the moment

Sjep13,

That's good news except 3-4 months is too long a wait for a follow up thyroid test. Ask for a retest in 8 weeks and folate should be retested too.

8 weeks really? Will do, I'll ask for everything to be retested of course

Sjep13,

If you are in the UK 54 is sub optimal. 75-100 is optimal. Supplement 5,000iu D3 for 6 weeks and then reduce dose to 5,000iu alternate days.

Regards to your vitamin D result if you don't know what it was measured in, then what country are you in? This would give an indication of the likely measurement.

My vit d is in nmol/L

😔 I listened he said 'OK'.... The fact a week in Cornwall has turned my face tanned may have lead him to believe it may be increased more.... Gggrrr lol

OK - so convert that into ng/L by dividing the result by 2.5 - giving a result of 21.6. Take a look at the chart below to see the dose required .... There is also a converter on the website.
