The problems with the UK is that their Guidelines are so far out of date. They don't keep up with Medical Research and literature or listen to their patients who cannot/do not get well on levothyroxine and they also frown on the use/addition of liothyronine (T3).

GPs are unknowledgeable except to look at the TSH as do most Endocrinologists too. Rarely take more tests than the TSH and/or T4.

Sick people are desperate for a reason to why they are not getting well, even feel worse on the prescriptions given and want answers - they're not forthcoming unfortunately.

Thankfully to Thyroiduk.org.uk and the forum, that we can get info from those who've succeeded where the NHS has failed.

Yes, we certainly need some 'about turns' and get down to the nitty gritty if patients complain of clinical symptoms.
