My follow up recurrent miscarriage appointment-hashimotos
I'm sorry about your miscarriages and this link may be helpful as it's self-explanatory.
I had my pregnancies before my diagnosis so I can't bring anything to the table on that but 25mcg is a very small starting dose and I think you need this increasing. Even 50 may not be enough. 6?weeks after being on the 50 you should have your bloods done again. Post your results and a new question then and you will get comments as to how well your thyroid journey is progressing. I do t know though whether still having the effects of the miscarriage will give a normal result. However when ever you post them do please put the ranges as they differ from lab to lab.
As to the cysts. On my first pregnancy I had my first ever internal examination by the consultant who wasn't noted for his bedside manner. He did my internal, took the gloves off and said, found a cyst, operate at three months and walked out! I was in bits and frightened as I'm petrified of hospitals.
I was send an appointment for a scan a couple of weeks later and I was told not cyst but I was pregnant and let me look at the screen. No photos sadly then but I walked out and bought a sandwich on my way back to work, telling everyone in the shop my good news that I didn't have to have an op.
On my next appointment the consultant was surprise I'd been worried about an operation but pleased everything was ok. He said the cyst must have been a corpus luteum! This is the protrusion on the ovary that the mature egg bursts out of to start its hopeful journey to be fertilised. So this had felt like a cyst on the surface of the ovary and it takes time for them to be broken down and I presume become reabsorbed. Now I didn't have a scan but this, to my consultant, felt like a cyst. I may be that they could look like a cyst as well do this could be what your scan showed as hopefully you will find there isn't a problem there. I could be wrong but u wanted to share that to stop you worrying as there may not be anything to worry about.
I hope an increase in medication works for you and your wishes come to fruition.
Orangepie,
As physical causes seem to be ruled out you'll hopefully have a successful pregnancy now you are taking 50mcg.
Hi
Sorry for your losses. My background is similar to yours. I had my daughter 6 years ago then suffered recurrent miscarriages (6) until I had treatment and my son was born last November. my thyroid levels were perfect ( I was on levo) however, I had high antibodies. I found a consultant who threw everything into my pregnancy, and it was successful. If you would like further info, feel free to message me.
Really that's great ? What treatment did you have in the end and and do
You know what your levels were? I heard pregnancy can trigger of these antibodies could you message me with you story . Very interested
Hi Wombletor,
I know you posted over a year ago now but my situation is almost identical to yours ( recurrent miscarriage and normal tsh with high antibodies). I had my son over 5 years ago and really want to give him a sibling. Can I ask what helped you achieve another successful pregnancy? I would be so grateful!
Thank you 😊
