Magnesium and Thyroid Meds

Magnesium can impair the absorption of thyroid medications, so please space out magnesium by 4 hours from your thyroid medications.  

(PS I would not recommend taking magnesium at night)

Hi is there a reason not to take magnesium at night as I do and find it helps me sleep better?

Just that if your thyroid is not adequately medicated or you have a slow respiratory problem the magnesium can relax the muscles including the heart too much which could cause a problem during the night.  If it works for you then fine.  I took it once at night and had a problem waking up.................

Certain types of magnesium are ideal to be taken before bedtime, such as magnesium glycinate.

Actually, it's better to leave six hours between magnesium and thyroid hormone.
