Dear Doctor, Thank you for reinstating T3 on our prescriptions .....

Guess what?

After a couple of very pointed (and I thought rather amusing) letters to 2 GP's, along with a 1" thick pile of pro - T3  info I delivered down a week or so ago, I went to my GP this morning and she has reinstated T3 on both of our prescriptions. Yeah!

A victory for common sense.

one particulary fine letter here...

healthunlocked.com/thyroidu...

we had a very nice chat, she agreed that GP's can prescribe anything they deem necessary for a patient and that a chemist must fulfil the 'script.

"It obviously works for you"

She didn't flinch or comment when I re-iterated that the CCG drugs list (where they now listT3 as a red drug,) was just GUIDANCE which they EXPECT  GP's and Endo's to comply with, THEY DON'T HAVE TO.

In fact one SHOULD point out that to not continue to provide a drug which obviously works for a patient is in essence 'to do harm' something Doc's should avoid!

(Especially for our sub-group of Hypo's who need T3 when there is NO ALTERNATIVE treatment that works for us.)

The point number 12 in the British Thyroid Associations 2015 paper was particularly useful I feel in my dealings ( that's a hint)

Anyway there you go!

As they say at The Furchester Hotel

NEVER GIVE UP!

I will continue to research and pull together ' a cunning plan' to get the CCG's inline.

I didn't devote the last few weeks of my life to stop half way

( of course my GP could retire or move or ?  so lets get this sorted for us, our kids and grandkids etc while we still have enough T3 to think straight!)

x live long and prosper.

Fantastic news for you both, only wish it could have been avoided. You'll find all the support you need here to carry on the fight. I don't take T3 but there may come a time when I need it, so it's as important to me as those that do take it. Btw it's a red drug in my CCG too.

Carry on the fight x
