Please see my results after 6 weeks on thyroxine 25mg and b12 lozenge 5000mcg.

would you agree that 25mg is too low?

A resounding yes. When treated with levo, ideally your TSH should be below 1.0.

25mcg is never a replacement dose.

No point in having B12 tested once you are supplementing - the results will be skewed.  Go by the result you had before you started to take B12 - and if it was VERY low then assume you have an issue of absorption and keep on taking it.  You cannot overdose ....

Molliemoo1,

You need a Levothyroxine dose increase to bring TSH down.

B12 >500 is unlikely to be deficient but you'll need to continue supplementing 1-5,000mcg to maintain levels.  Folate is good.

VitD is suboptimal.  75-100 is optimal.  Supplement 2,500iu daily for a couple of months.  Resume supplementing  October-April when ultraviolet light is low.

Ferritin is optimal 75-100.  You could supplement iron with vitamin C to aid absorption.  Iron and vitamin D should be taken 4 hours away from Levothyroxine.

Thanks Clutter

In my opinion it is too low. I am taking 50mcg now and my TSH is 1.73. How did your appointment at the clinic go?

It was OK. They took loads of bloods and told me that miscarriages are common and not to worry about my tsh.

But she also said that she didn't know much about thyroid and hadn't heard of the nice guidelines on pregnancy and thyroid. She said she would refer me to an endo at the hospital.

None of my private results were on the system for the hospital to view, is this normal? Or does this mean that my doctor hasn't attached them?

That's good you have been referred to the endo that is the key appointment. Is it another 3 month wait? Did you give your GP the results and did they have them on record. I took hard copies of mine to the appointment and that's when she sent me for the pelvic ultrasound.

Were the blood tests for the antiphosphillipid and thrombolia screen? They took about 6 tubes for that :S

Also, when you had you miscarriages at 6.5 weeks how long did it take to get a negative pregnancy test. Mine was at 7 weeks so not to far off but the positive on the pregnancy test is still very strong :(

I think it was about a week to get a negative, maybe 10 days.

10 tubes of blood and my veins weren't playing ball! Bruises on both arms now, horrible and painful.

I have given the results to my Gp. Thinking of writing to gp again and including all results and asking for them to update records x
