can someone tell me if Beta Blockers are prescribed to take with Carbimazole because one of the side effects of Carbimazole is palpitations or because the Carbimazole alone can't control the rapid heartbeat/palpitations caused by a thyroid problem - in my case Graves/Hyper?
Many thanks in advance

I took Beta Blockers to control my rapid heart rate and hand tremor when I was first diagnosed with Graves. The Carbimazole alone was not enough. Unfortunately I was taken off them because I have asthma and they can make that worse.
I was on beta blockers with Carbimazole, and as Hobbnobbing said, the Carbimazole on its own wasn't enough to steady my heart (I had actually developed AF), so beta blockers are commonly prescribed for an interim period while the Carbimazole is beginning to work.
