Hi does anyone know were I could buy armour thyroid safely from as my GP doesn't even listen to my symptoms I've got with hypothyroidism & on 100mcg of levo but still got all the symptoms + feeling terrible + all he wants to do is prescribe me antidepressants + I'm getting knowhere. Please if anyone gets armour I would be really grateful if you could email me privately for some information. I forgot to say without prescription. Thanks

Alfinno, do you have recent thyroid results and ranges (figures in brackets after results) which will help us see whether you are optimally medicated on 100mcg, and how long have you been taking 100mcg?

Armour is a brand name, it isn't a type of medication. It is one brand amongst several of NDT (Natural Dessicated Thyroid). There are other brands available - Erfa, Naturethroid, Thyroid-S, Thiroyd, TR Tman, plus others, I can never remember them all.

If you are looking for Armour, you need to know it is the most expensive NDT in the world. The cheapest are the Thai products (the last three names I gave).

I'm not up-to-date on where to buy NDT, so I can't help you I'm afraid.

You may find that your symptoms are caused by poor nutrient levels. A common problem amongst people with hypothyroidism is low levels of ferritin, vitamin B12, vitamin D and folate. Perhaps your doctor would test them for you.

Remember to ask for copies of all your blood test results in future. If you get asked why you want a copy just say you want to keep a copy for your own records. Then copy those results into a new post and ask for opinions and advice.
