Hi everyone me again,just an update my gp rang me and said my thyroid peroxidase antibody test results are 552 but he didn't explain what this means, any help would be appreciated x

Have you got the range for this result Leanne? Are you on thyroid meds?

Hi hun thank you for coming back to me, no as much as I know tpo is 552, I'm on levothyroxine 300 mg x

That's ok, you're welcome. Looks like you have Hashimoto's. I had both TG antibodies and TPO antibodies checked but my GP has told me only one needs to be measured and be in positive range. My lab's antibody range is 100 for TPO.

How are you feeling in yourself? What do your latest thyroid results say? x

Yeah that's what I thought hun, I'm hoping to speak to my endocrinologist tmoz, my thyroid level is slightly high but improved from last test, I feel perfectly fine apart from a slight problem swallowing saliva but fine when eating or drinking if that makes sense, I can't take anti inflammatory meds because I had a perforated stomach ulcer about 5 year ago, hopefully they can give me something for it x

Sorry to hear that Leanne. I get problems swallowing as well but I'm the other way - swallowing saliva is fine as is when I drink but painful when I eat.

I have had an ultrasound on my thyroid which showed it was enlarged so I had to have an endocscopy (without anaesthetic!) put up my nose. I couldn't stand it but it went as far down as the bottom of my windpipe! So the consultant ordered a barium swallow and when that came back clear I have to have some other type of endoscopy but I am being sedated this time.

Aww sorry to hear that hun, I think it makes it worse because I'm conscious of it,I'm hoping that they can give me something to reduce inflammation and stop this,I've told my hubby they don't want to be wanting to operate as I think they should try other treatments like radioactive iodine or steroids first,I'm not ment to be seeing endocrinologist till April, but hopefully will get some further information or treatment tmoz, aww hope it all goes well for you hunni let me know how you get on x
