Funnily enough Pomegranates, are the official symbol of Crete. Loads of local ceramics using them, for candle holders, I bought loads back for my children. They have a pomegranate day, and everybody has them in their gardens, together with funny looking oranges and lemons.
When I was there, my friend put pomegranate seeds onto our salads, delicious, together with fresh, sweet green figs, that we had bought from the local market, I was totally in love with them, sometimes use them on my salads, but will use more from now on.
Good news! I eat pomegranate seeds every single day, twice a day in fact, with Full Fat Greek yog + blueberries, unsweetened cranberry compote [store 50 bags in freezer for the full year], pumpkin/sunflower seeds + 1/2 teaspoon of cacoa and a tiny sprinkle of good coffee = my pudd x2 each day [after breakfast and evening meal]. Also sprinkled on salad leaves whenever and I make a lovely salad dressing with concentrated pomegranate juice [B Halal], ginger, local honey, tahani... ++
Long way from sitting as a kid with a pin and half a pomegranate! Thanks again
