Ok so my ferratin is 26 quite low ferroud sulfate is not helping that so what's best way to raise it? Also have been on naturethroid since November 6th started out at 1 grain after two weeks raised to 1.5 grains and have been there ever since. I'm extremely tired and weak ALL THE TIME never ever have energy. How do I start over on my naturethroid I mean is it too late to increase BC I tried here recently and I was more tired or could it be the brand not absorbing properly?

I'm sorry you aren't feeling well.
Usually when beginning NDT, if you've already been taking thyroid hormones you switch straight over to the equivalent, i.e. 100mcg of T4 is approx 1 grain NDT.
You take your pulse/temp before beginning and then take it several times a day until you get to an optimum.
You increase your dose by 1/4 (some say half but I prefer 1/4) approx every 2 weeks until you feel better or if your pulse or your heart goes too fast drop back to the previous dose.
I hope you feel better soon.

Lindsey1987, how much Ferrous Sulphate are you taking and how long have you been taking it? It can take months/years to raise ferritin. Taking each tablet with 500mg-1,000mg vitamin C aids absorption and minimises constipation.
Your recent thyroid test shows you are undermedicated and need to increase NatureThroid dose.

Yes I realize my numbers are lower than they need to be and I feel like crap so that means increase but how come when I tried to increase I was MORE tired and exhausted? Seems like it should help not make it worse and is it to late to increase since I've been stuck at same dose for a long time
Lindsey1987, I don't know why you felt more tired, unless the fatigue is due to low ferritin. It's never too late to increase dose. Maybe try 1/4 grain every week for 4 weeks instead of 1/2 grain every two weeks.

when I first started taking ndt...I went through at least 3 months of feeling terrible that spooked me but knew their is a body adjusting period...it leveled off but slowly and I just kept pushing forward increasing dosage......so I think it is the body adjusting and ihad to split it taking twice a day and far away from food , supplements and on a empty stomach
Consistent low Ferritin that doesn't improve with supplements for some people can be a symptom of Coeliac. Some people do not have the classic symptoms. If you ask your doctor to test for Coeliac antibodies you will need to have been eating gluten for a while before the test for antibodies to show. See Coeliac UK for more information coeliac.org.uk/coeliac-dise...
