A while ago Helvella posted that it was possible to get your meds in three monthly prescriptions.

I think he added a link also.

I would be grateful if anyone can help , I have had a very " close shave " with one of my meds over the holidays 😱 .

It was in Section 6 (Page 20) of this report:

Levothyroxine tablet products: a review of clinical and quality considerations

From: Medicines and Healthcare products Regulatory Agency

First published: 7 January 2013

Recommendation 9: Levothyroxine should be prescribed and dispensed in quantities covering three months supply, where appropriate, in order to address issues of continuity of supply and also to improve convenience to patients.

Since persuading my GP to prescribe three months at a time by showing this, they have continued to do so. Suspect they don't even notice...

Have always had since diagnosed all regular meds in three month supply's without asking including beta blockers and eye gel.

The pharmacy at my surgery told me simply to write on my repeat prescription "three months supply please" and that's how I get mine three monthly.

I tried to get a 3 monthly prescription before xmas after seeing Helvella post .(Thank you Helvella for the post .)The gp looked at me stupid .Maybe they just don't know they can do this .I told him it so you can have the same batch of levo ,got no reply.

But there he did not know that if you change brands of levo you should get your bloods checked.
