I'd be very nervous of taking colloidal silver. :D

And I hate honey. :O

Same here, exactly! But, the Manuka honey isn't so bad as the stuff you get in the supermarket. Very expensive, though!

Mind you, he was taking it for ten years. Perhaps it should only be taken short-term.

But I think the heavy smoking might have had more to do with his death than the colloidal silver.

humanbean profile image

It wasn't his death that concerned me specifically, it was the colour of his skin! :D

Does that sound callous? Probably...

lol Well, if you're callous, so am I!

Silver is most definitely capable of being a nasty. I just happened to have open a number of links to papers referring to silver - especially colloidal/nano-particles. Not everything said damns silver but there are many questions.

I was advised to take colloidal silver after having chicken pox in my mid-forties. I think it helped, as I was "floored" for months, & couldn't seem to get over it.

I'm sure the virus was what triggered FM.

Elderberry is also excellent.

I've been taking syrup &/or tincture every day, & no lurgies this winter, so far...

It's also delicous! Which you can't say for everything on that list.

My son used to put Manuka Honey on his face.

Brilliant for teenage acne.

My friend put it on her dogs ulcer and it healed within a week.

There have been reports of honey being found within the tombs in Eygpt .. incredible.

I used manuka to get rid of an infection, following an unpleasant hospital examination. Wonderful stuff!

The tincture is a bit sharp, though bitter foods are supposed to be good for the liver & boost the immune system.

I have two spoons of syrup with lemon & green tea every morning. I added star anise, cloves & cinnamon, so it'd make a good mulled wine or cider syrup, too. :)

Make Elderberry Wine and open your home, rent out rooms, to lonely elderly gentlemen, as a kind of "charity" and make extra money too? I think i have a great original idea here, don't you? lol!!!

i am going to make my own syrup. Can you tell me more about the star anise? Did you buy it in bulk? Liquid or powder?

BadHare profile image
BadHare in reply to faith63

This is the recipe I used: greenmanherbalist.co.uk/eld...

I'm not a ginger fan, so gave people a piece of root with their winter lurgy kit of syrup & tincture, along with organic lemons & more cinnamon sticks, in case of a bad infection.

I've been back to the trees twice, so far, to stock them up with nuts & fat balls, which seems like a good swap since I'd taken the local birds' winter food.

You can get the spices at the supermarket, though they're expensive. I eventually bought bulk sized bags from an Asian shop.

faith63 profile image
faith63 in reply to BadHare

i don't like the ginger either, no matter how good it is for your tummy.

BadHare profile image
BadHare in reply to faith63

I can tolerate a little, now, but it usually makes my stomach burn, & I feel queasy. Quite the opposite of what it's supposed to do.

I added extra star anise, as I love that.

faith63 profile image
faith63 in reply to BadHare

i love licorice, so i bet anise is wonderful! I saw it on Amazon, in bulk and elderberry's too..all organic.

BadHare profile image
BadHare in reply to faith63

It should work with dried elderberries, but you'll need to adjust the water content to compensate.

I think star anise tastes quite different to liquorice. It's supposed to be an ingredient in some flu jabs.

I love liquorice, too, but just read that it's not for hypos. I've just bought 8 tins of organic Italian pastilles, so I'll have to ration it. :(

greygoose profile image
greygoose in reply to BadHare

It's not good for all hypos. It stimulates the adrenals. But that is good for some. It all dépends. Just go by how you feel on it.

BadHare profile image
BadHare in reply to greygoose

The stuff I've just bought is the very strong concentrated liquorice pastilles, & the tiny things that used to be available in the 60's & 70's, called Imps.

I can eat a whole bag of soft liquorice, & feel fine, but only have one or two of these strong ones a day as they're an expensive treat.

I'm assuming no jitters makes them ok for me? I also find it curbs my sweet tooth, which is definitely good. :)

Hi, I'm a bit of a kitchen alchemist and I make my own organic skin creams and shampoos.

I'd like to add Copper to your list it far outweighs colloidal silver. Copper is a great germ killer and is good for your health.

Hospitals have started to use it to combat infections, you can buy impregnated copper clothing that can heal things like leg ulcers and skin infections.

If you are a bit adventurous it easy to make colloidal copper.

You can put it into face creams and it will give you a mini face life as it strengthens all the blood vessels add Vit C to your mix and it encourages the production of collagen and elastin. Lots of health benefits too, I will post a link...

You can make your own shampoos, if you add copper it will encourage new hair growth and bring back your own natural hair colour as it blocks the production of peroxide, it's this natural peroxide production in your body that turns your hair grey, if you add rosemary and strong black coffee you have a shampoo that encourages your hair follicle grow two to three hairs at a time. If you don't want to go as far as making your own shampoo buy some copper and zinc tablets from the health foods and watch for new hairs sprouting and your own natural colour, it will be slower but it will happen. Or if you are a liver lover which I am not, if you eat a credit card size piece of liver every day you will see new growth and the return of your hair colour.

I'm sorry if you have an hereditary hair loss it probably won't work for you but hey, give it a go who knows!

I, personally, would be very wary of copper. I know it's a great antiseptic, and that these nasty hospital bugs only came about when hospitals changed all their brass door handles for modern... non-brass handles.

But, copper has to be balanced with zinc. And it's only a tiny quantity of copper to zinc. Because it's such a tiny amount, people are more likely to be deficient in zinc - in fact, most people are deficient in zinc - than they are in copper. Absorbing unknown quantities of copper through the skin doesn't sound like a very good idea to me.

I take zinc, and thought maybe I should be balancing it with copper, so started taking a tiny amount. It made me feel very bad, and I stopped it, concluding that I already had enough copper - given that I started feeling so much better when I started taking the zinc, and then worse when I started taking the copper. So, I would be very careful, if I were you. :)

LolalalalalaLola profile image
LolalalalalaLola in reply to greygoose

Hi greygoose thanks for your reply.

Of course you are right, you have to be careful with anything you put in or on your body and yes you should take internally zinc with copper as they both help each other to do their job inside the body, they are both great for fighting infection and strengthening our immune system. Our body gives us clues to certain things and grey hair is s sign that you are deficient in copper...

It's the same for people taking Vit D they should always take Vit K2 and Vit A, they are enablers, they enable each other to do their job properly so calcium can be escorted to the proper places in the body otherwise the calcium can be taken to the arteries, they compliment each other.

Zinc and copper should always be taken with food otherwise you will feel sick after taking it.

In this so called modern era our soil has become so depleted in the essential vitamins and minerals that our body needs to function properly.

I am just a person who knows a few things and I don't profess to be an expert, I will only post things I think people will find interesting as I hope you find this...

Here are a couple of excerpts you might like...

As long ago as the 1920s, the British and US Governments were warned by nutritional experts that the soils on which most crops were grown were so deficient in mineral content that the foods grown on them contained less than 10% of the vitamins and minerals they should have. The intention of these reports was to highlight the problem so that remedial action could be taken to remineralise the soils, leading, once again, to naturally healthy fruits and vegetables.

Unfortunately, neither Government took any action to correct this problem, and as a result, which has been intensified by modern intensive farming methods, the fruits and vegetables not only have little or no vitamin and mineral content, but they are routinely sprayed with such a broad selection of chemicals that they are actually poisonous.

natural-health-information-...

The main cause of grey hair is a lack of the essential nutrients, especially vitamin A and B group vitamins, along with the minerals copper, iron and zinc. Copper in particular is not only necessary for hair pigmentation, it is needed by the body to maintain the health of the artery walls and without it you end up with what’s known as elastic fibre breakdown. When this occurs the arterial walls become weak, eventually causing an aneurism (the ballooning of an artery or blood vessel). This is a life threatening condition as it can burst, resulting in either severe stroke or death. 1

A good case in point is Albert Einstein. If you ever saw pictures of him in his later years you would instantly recognize his bright silver grey hair.

Einstein died of a ruptured aneurism!

Thank you. That's interesting. What a pity that governments are so stupid!

I only took copper for a very short while, because it really didn't agree with me. Before that, I had silver grey hair, which I loved (started going grey around the age of 27!) The copper changed the colour to a sort of brassy Brown. Horrible, really! It still hasn't gone back to my lovely silver grey, I now look like a faded blond! I really Don't think I'm going anywhere near copper again. :(

But I'm pretty sure that early greying is also a symptom of hypo.

Do you have a shampoo recipe, please? I hate gray hair and miss my natural color and my old self before hashi's!

LolalalalalaLola in reply to faith63

You can buy the colloidal copper or make it...

How to make colloidal copper

1) Get 4x9 volt batteries and join them together.

2) Get two lengths of pure copper wire, cut so there is just enough to reach bottom of large jam jar and leaving enough to bend over top of jar so it hooks onto top rim.

3) Fill jar with distilled water to about 3" from top.

4) Get a good pinch of citric acid and put in water and test the water with your water meter (I bought mine from eBay for about £3) Write the number down because that is the parts per million of citric acid in water as your reference if you want to recreate the recipe.

5) Hook your wires up to the batteries and copper wire and leave.

The wires will start to send bubbles into water and it will start to turn your water a blueish green.

You are now producing colloidal copper-citrate.

Take another reading when you have finished so you can recreate.

I bought all the above from eBay apart from batteries.

Once you have all the things it takes 2-3 mins and your up and running.

Note

You do have to use distilled water for this process not filtered.

Recipe

For half a bottle of organic shampoo I use castille (1/2 litre) add 30 drops of rosemary essential oil + 3-4 oz of strong black coffee made with distilled water or filtered + 3-4 oz of your colloidal copper citrate you can leave out the citrate if you want I use it as a natural preservative (I waited until my readings were around 29 parts per million you can make it stronger or weaker it's just a case of experimenting)

You are now a kitchen alchemist 😃

The coffee and rosemary stimulate your hair follicle to produce 2-3 hairs at a time, the copper also makes your hair regrow with the added benefit of blocking you body from producing peroxide it's the peroxide which causes you to go grey if it's blocked your natural colour returns.

If you just want hair colour and not hair growth you can just dip cotton wool into your copper and rub on scalp :0)

I tried to send photos but for some reason they won't send?

Let me know if you want photos of how to make the colloidal copper it's so easy.

Thank you. I think i will buy the copper instead for now anyway...very interesting!

Difficult to know ,but silver has been used for some time in some wound dressings, also in some underwear for active folk !. Colloidal silver is taken internally, I think ,and I have read advertising blurb recommendations.garlic is powerful but has not stopped colds for me.

Useful to know in order to prevent infection. Fortunately, I use two or three different ones every week - and I rarely catch colds, so maybe they work against viruses as well.

Thanks x
