Linda, did your doctor decrease your dose because your TSH was low/suppressed? That is a very bad idea. And you are now obviously Under-replaced.
If your doctor suggests dropping your dose because of your TSH reading, always, always say no. You are not over-replaced unless your FT3 is over-range. If he doesn't test that, then he has no way of knowing. Just say no. If you say nothing, he will take that as consent. Just remember, he has no idea what he's doing!
How are your levels of B12 and VitD - if both are LOW in their ranges it can be the cause of pain. I also agree with greygoose about reducing your T4 without the tests being done for FT3.
Sadly we have to learn to take control of our own health...
Phone surgery and leave message for GP that you are increasing your dose up again as you are now suffering pain you didn't have on your higher dose. Did you get a copy of your blood test results? If so get a copy and post for comments. Did you get the earliest possible appointment for this blood test?
Thank you all so much, I am due to see him next wednesday so i now have some information to go on, I will let you know how i get on and thank you all very much.
I have terrible pain in one foot which comes and goes. Finally, after many years, being sent for further tests. Because of my weight, the Dr seems to think they will just tell me to lose weight and not treat me.
Most of the pain is muscle and nerve related. Achilles tendon issues. I believe Hashi's can seriously effect the Achilles tendons.
Yes, at times I cannot walk and the pain is so bad I feel I am about to pass out and be sick. They have not even prescribed me any pain relief!
I am on 200mg Levo. Last tests showed TSH, fT4 and fT3 all rising. No-one knows what is going on and No-one wants to do furthers tests - "we are only allowed to test every 6 months to a year".
When I am under-medicated I get pain in the bottom of my feet, particularly when I get out of bed in the morning. It goes away when I am properly medicated. I think it might be called plantar fasciitis.
When I was on Levo my thighs killed me. Just started ndt and no more pain so far... Could be adding the t3 or going for a natural option
