Loads of people keep asking me about non-cafo fed cattle, and the butter Kerrygold, which is the only one in the Uk that I know about, which is from non-cafo fed cattle.

It says somewhere in it, that you can get if from Green pastures, who also do Extra vigin cod liver oil, I prefer the rosita one. I buy mine for £1.60 for 250g at Asda, I think that most of the big supermarkets will do it.

I buy Kerrygold Butter here in my Greek village - at Jon the Butcher in Vamos. Perhaps he will give me a free pat for this mention !

What does non-cafo mean?
non-confined animal feeding operation, or basically, just cows grazing naturally, not fed processed crap!

Having already looked it up, I found a slightly different definition:
In the terminology of the United States Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), a Concentrated Animal Feeding Operation (CAFO) is an animal feeding operation (AFO) that (a) confines animals for more than 45 days during a growing season, (b) in an area that does not produce vegetation, and (c) meets certain size thresholds. The EPA's definition of the term "captures key elements of the transformations" observed in the animal agriculture sector over the course of the 20th century: "a production process that concentrates large numbers of animals in relatively small and confined places, and that substitutes structures and equipment (for feeding, temperature controls, and manure management) for land and labor."

I am more taking the Delamere goat's butter in my coffee, has a more creamy taste.
Thanks to you I got the goat's butter - I love goat and sheep yoghurt anyway. The Kerrygold is still much better, its just GMO is creeping in everywhere in UK, worse still USA... many countries have totally banned it.

OOH that's going on the Christmas cheese board, Cat has got a super cheeseboard, bought lots of chilli jams, all gluten free for us, as she has Celiacs, and we hypos are gluen free in general. Wonder where to buy it though
WHAT!? Exclusively in the USA... noooo! Maybe shipped from Ireland to UK? I'll check, I like the look of it too. My husband always insists on paying the little extra for milk from 'grazing cows' [I don't touch milk] and loves all cheeses... was thinking of getting some. Hope you can find a stockist.

i buy it in the US to make Ghee out of. hashis are not supposed to eat dairy.
Hi faith63 not heard that before,, and I feel great, had this for 12 years, but now only much better with T3 added, 50mcg daily, with my T4 125mcg daily. I self-medicate, but I eat ridiculous amounts of cheese about 8ozs daily, with at least 1.5pts full cream milk, my body craves dairy.
We have some butter for sale in Cornwall that comes from non confined cows (can even buy it in the local Tesco) but I suppose it's not widely available - Trewithen dairy. Also Rodda's which I think is the same.
Oh for the days of having our own Guernsey cows and unpasteurised milk and butter. (Not for the days of cold, mud and chilblains.) I am tempted to buy 'raw' milk but there are very few suppliers.
