I am on 75 mg thyroxine and 20 mg T3 split into 10 mg morning

and 10 mg afternoon.

Can the T3 be the reason I am waking early every morning at 5.00am.

I was prescribed T3 by my Endo to lift my fog and it works very well,I can now do my crossword again.

I just feel I am not getting enough sleep 6 hours at the most.

I am 78 years old so maybe thats all I need

I find that if I have too little T3 I feel tired and sleep for a long time but wake up many times. If I have too much I find it difficult to get to sleep. With the right amount I fall asleep OK and maybe just wake up once or twice but feel refreshed the next day.

I think it is better to take the second dose close to bedtime. If you find you can't get to sleep you know you are taking a little too much.

This is interesting jim,

My sleep is dreadful & has been all the year.

My endo has just suggested I try dosing my T3 three times a day instead of two to get over energy slumps and cold intolerance.

Perhaps a more even spread of thyroid hormone throughout the day will help my sleep at night.
