What to expect on T3 only as thyroid s not helping
T3 only?: What to expect on T3 only as thyroid s... - Thyroid UK
T3 only?
I think you're going to need to give a lot more information for anyone to offer an opinion. How long have you been on Thyroid S, at what dose, what are your bloods like now? Have you checked all the other things that might be making you feel unwell. Iron, B12, Vit D, folate?
Hello. Im low on D and I'm taking supplements. Everything else the doc says is ok. I took thyroid s in varying strengths reaching 3 tabs a day then backing down to 2 then 1. At no time did I feel 'OK'. Gaining a lot of fat around my middle. Docs blaming it on the fact I'm 51. Also last year within a two week span I became allergic to gluten and casein protein. I have IBS and gastritis. Before the thyroid s I was on 100 mcg levo and 20 of t3 (liothyronin). My tsh was -0.01 and doc said at that dose I would have heart problems. I went alone trying thyroid s and after 5 months and at 3 pills a day my level was still -0.01. So I went down in dosage to 2 1/2 etc. Recently had my bloods done after going back on 100 levo but don't have those results back, but I still don't feel 'right'. Yesterday I started on t3 only. Started with two 20 mcg. I was too hyper last night so today I halved the pills and am taking only 30mcg. I feel ok other than the insatiable need to eat. I'm at my wits end. I can't live like this anymore
Christielle, if you are taking Levothyroxine only, adding some T3 should give you a similiar effect to that you would expect from Thyroid-S.
