Hi. Im a 23 spanish boy. Taking eutirox 75 since I was 12. The blood tests say im fine but i always feel so tired..dry skin..joint pain. I found this website by chance some weeks ago and been reading a lot since then.

After considering it much I decided to take NDT. I want to try Naturethroid 1/4 grain for 2 weeks. If everythings fine then 1/2 grain. But there is no NDT in Spain. My doc didn't even know what I was talking about (so sad btw).

Im decided to get it anyway cos i cant go on like this. I told my doc that i was going to get it online and that i would make blood tests periodically to see how it goes. He said he would help me.

The thing is that im afraid of taking meds online. I wanna ask you if u could pm me and let me know of safe online places to get it (remember Im in spain not UK).

Thank you. Its great the work you ppl do here. Drs dont help at all in this desease and you can feel so frustrated sometimes. Thank you so much for helping each other.

Welcome to the forum, Josu.

1 grain NDT is bioactively equivalent to 75mcg Levothyroxine. If you intend to start with 1/4 grain you might want to reduce Levothyroxine by 18.75mcg for every 1/4 grain added to avoid becoming hypothyroid as you transition to NDT.

Thank you for answering.

I am going to make a blood test before starting NDT. What should I check in the blood test? Ive heard that there are many factors related to hypo (vitB12, ferritin..etc). I will post my blood test once i get it and ask for some advise in the forum. then I will decide if I start with NDT.

By the way Ive been already more than 3 weeks taking only 37.5 eutirox (half of the pill, i reduced 50% the dose) and I feel the same, symptoms didn't get any worse: tired during the day, my knees hurt, hands and feet usually cold, and braing fog (thats the one I hate most lol can´t think clearly, it´s like my brain is sleepy...).

Josu, There's no need to reduce or stop Eutirox before transitioning to NDT.

Ask for TSH, FT4 and FT3 for thyroid, and ferritin, vitamin D, B12 and folate for vitamins and minerals.
