RAI for graves I've had it and was given a drink. I just wondered how many of you had a drink and how many had a capsule.

Thank you

Hi rubyred,

I have had two RAI treatments. The first was at the end of 1994 and the second 14 months later. I can't honestly say what effects it has had on me because my general health isn't always good. I put a lot of it down to misdiagnosis and wrong treatments..too many anti biotics etc. I do believe that if it wasn't for my recent discovery of this forum, and the lovely helpful people on it; that I may never have had any hope of getting well. Thanks to the advice I am fighting the fight and doing all in my power to sort my health out. I am starting to feel the benefits of this and it is empowering me to continue.

I wish you the very best and can assure you, that you are in good hands with these people here.

Capsule 2 years ago (and drinks for 3 scanning doses). It's never occurred to me there might have been specific problems from it. I'm still very ill do a lot of more specific things don't get noticed.

Hi Rubyred

I had a capsule about 19 years ago, No problems at the time, I think I was so pleased to be rid of the hyper symptoms which I had suffered the three years previous to the treatment it did not occur to me what the future may bring. In the last few years I have been diagnosed with scleroderma, another autoimmune disease, and recently had a procedure that found polyps in the bowel very small and not malignant because of early intervention. After reading articles about the long term effects of the thyroid treatment it does make one wonder. I have mentioned my concerns to different medics who don't seem to accept my concerns.

Try to keep healthy and happy
