Hey guys. I'm hoping for a quick response as I have an appointment with the doctor at 10:10.
I plan on asking for extra bloods to be taken as advised from you guys including my fT3.
Is there any quick facts I can through at them? And please can you help with an argument for fT3 test. I know info is there but nothing is fullying sinking in yet.
Thanks guys

Well my doc called early. She was really great. She said that they will test me for everything but t3.
However she has put a note in the box to request a free t3 test. She has said she is an open door regarding test but unfortunately she is restricted. I thanked her being so supportive
Sddixy, most NHS labs decline to test FT3 unless TSH is suppressed <0.03. They're looking for evidence of hyperthyroidism ie suppressed TSH and high FT4 and FT3 rather than low FT3 in hypothyroid patients.
Private FT3 tests can be ordered from Blue Horizon and Genova via thyroiduk.org.uk/tuk/testin... but it's best to wait until TSH is 1-2 and FT4 in the upper range as FT3 is likely to be low until then.
Thanks. I am going for bloods next week so I will see how they go I guess.
I know I'm not well yet tho feeling worse on afternoons and night Times at the minute. My whole body was hurting last night so I ended up taking a load of pain killers.
Still hoping that the Levo will make me well at the right dose
Sddixy, symptoms can lag behind good biochemistry by a couple of months once you are optimally medicated, but you should be feeling improvement 6-8 weeks after starting Levothyroxine.
Vitamins and minerals are often low/deficient in hypothyroid patients so ask your GP to test ferritin, vitamin D, B12 and folate. Low/deficient levels can cause musculoskeletal pain, fatigue and low mood similar to hypothyroid symptoms.
Thank you. These test were brought to my attention the other day on my first post. Thanks to you guys I'm being tested next week for all of the things mentioned above.
