It's shocking - can she be transfered to any (good) London Hospital who has a decent endocrinologist?
I hope she will be, i have hypo and i know how it effects me,so hope they can help her asap, yes its best she waits until they can give her the best care but its hard when you re living with it.I find i exist rather then live so i hope they will take that and help her in the next few weeks at the most.
Fairyeyes, I really don't understand why she isn't referred to a hospital which already has an experienced thyroid/parathyroid surgeon.
I have many friends waiting now for over a year for surgery, with dates continually being changed. At the moment they have not been given a date for surgery. . Looks like it is a growing problem. I believe I read recently (in Pulse) that Gp'S have been asked not to refer anyone for surgery for three months so,they can cope with the backlog.
