I have been reading about armour thyroid. Is this any good? And how about melatonin? Will that help me with my sleep?

Melatonin, armoir thyroid
Armour Thyroid is one of the original Natural Dessicated Thyroid Hormones and this is a link to the site for info:-
This is the history of NDT
Melatonin is not an opiate, it doesn't make you remain asleep. What it can do is help you go to sleep, and help set the time at which you go to sleep. I find it very helpful when I wake in the middle of the night, or if I can't get to sleep.
If you are looking at blue light, in the form of TV or computer screens or an Ipad before going to bed that will make it harder for the body to create its own melatonin and send you to sleep.
So having stopped doing the above, the short answer is to try it. It is pretty safe stuff, but a very small dose should do it. It will help if your body is having problems producing melatonin for some biochemical reason. You can buy it over the internet or pick it up over the counter in the USA, Italy, Poland....
i was not sleeping, i took herabl tablets and they helped, did a saliva cortisol test and it came back high all day so i brought 1mg melatonin and sleep like a baby
My son (now 30 and 6'2") was prescribed melatonin when he was 12 and newly diagnosed with ME. His sleeping pattern was completely skewed and melatonin helped him tremendously.
The consultant he saw said that could safely take up to 6 tablets - Fortunately a 3mg tablet did the trick but it was nice to know that he could take more if necessary. At 12 he was a skinny child and not very tall so if the dosage goes on body weight it gives you an idea of how safe they are!
He still takes it - altho not regularly - and I've recommended it to friends who have trouble sleeping. He takes a 1mg tablet now so start with a small dose. And remember that it's safe to take another tablet should you wake up and not be able to fall back to sleep easily. Hope this helps!
