Linzilei, Thyroid peroxidase antibodies are positive for autoimmune thyroid disease (Hashimoto's) which has caused your hypothyroidism. It can be helpful in reducing Hashi flares and antibodies if you adopt 100% gluten-free diet.

What dose vitamin D have you been prescribed and have you been prescribed folic acid for the folate deficiency?

B12 is very low, but within range, so NHS will not prescribe but you should supplement 2,000mcg methylcobalamin sublingual lozenges, spray or patches for a couple of months and can then maintain at 1,000mcg daily. Take a B Complex vitamin to keep the other B vits balanced.

Hello Linzilei,

You are deficient or low in all nutrients.

You also have a high TSH indicating you are still under medicated and high thyroid antibodies indicating you have Hashimotos Auto Immune disease. This is prevalent in people with hypothyroidism.

How are you feeling? With these results I would think you must be quite symptomatic.

Many members function better with a TSH of 1.0 or below. Your test results recommend a range of between 0.2-4. Your dose increase will help you towards this goal and make you feel a bit better. Your doctor should test you after six weeks and depending on results, adjust your dose again. Unfortunately thyroid hormones can take a while to balance as the body will only accept small increments at a time.

Nutrient deficiencies are common in people with thyroid issues as it puts a tremendous strain on the body until you are optimally medicated (with a much lower TSH.) Clutter and RFU has advised re supplementing but I have added a link below explaining the importance and other recommendations.

Many people with hypothyroidism have gut issues such ISB or bacterial infections. This is because low thyroid hormones interfere with the secretion of stomach acid encouraging these problems and resulting in nutrient malabsorption. This link explains the importance of stomach acid:

It is important to lower your antibody count to reduce inflammation within the body and the risk of further disease. A high anti body count could indirectly interfere with thyroid meds working and make you feel very unwell. Many have found a gluten free diet to be beneficial as it takes the triggers away that produce the unwanted inflammatory response. I also have to avoid amaranth, rye, barley and polish wheat. I am presently supplementing therapeutic doses of Curcumin, known for its anti inflammatory properties.

Leading a healthy life style and looking after yourself will help further.

Once you are optimally medicated and have higher levels of nutrients you should start to feel a lot better...So Linzilei.. here goes to a new you...!!!...

Best of luck on your journey.
