I got my antibodies tested and they said it was normal but doctor agreed to send me to see throat specialist as thyroid still swollen got quick appointment too ,I challenged them on my vitamin D deficiency -18 and she agreed that 800iu was too low and upped it to 5000 I was supplementing it with my own that I purchased from amazon I started with 10000iu but when I tried to go down I felt tired and achy is it safe to up it again

Amssmith, If I were you I'd take 10,000iu for 8 weeks to boost levels and then reduce to 5,000iu. VitD is replete 75-100 and most people are comfortable when it is around 100.

I was prescribed 40,000iu daily x 14 followed by 2,000iu daily x 8 weeks and vitD rose from <10 to >100.
