Why Isn't Thyroid Disease Front Page News?
GG, Until celebs tell it like it is, the symptoms, hairloss, weightgain/loss and say what meds they're taking and how long it took them to feel well I'd rather they shut up. It's demoralising to see glam pix of people who seem to have it all done and dusted within a month of diagnosis.
Too many doctors with a vested interest in levothyroxine at a guess.
You can see some of the media' s attitude towards thyroid in the story I just posted about Amos Mason.

Has taken five months for the Daily Mail to pick it up. When a celeb having a broken nail might be there within hours, or if they been in the sun a little too long, lost or put on weight, etc. Further, the headline Family wins £4million compensation after their son's thyroid condition was repeatedly missed by medics leaving him severely brain damaged , as so often, emphasises the amount of money and make it sound like a lottery jackpot - so the family are lucky winners.
Sort of a non-attitude, really, isn't it.
