I was all set to do this test today but the first saliva has to be collected between 6.00-9.00 a.m. It specifies to do it between 30-60 minutes after rising. Now, I am not sleeping well and awoke at between 3.00 and 4.00 a.m and didn't go back to sleep again but I didn't get out of bed until 7.30.
I have delayed doing the whole test until tomorrow now simply because I'm unsure if it'll be a true reading as I awoke so early.
Any advice, anyone, please?

Cortisol follows a circadian rhythm which means it has natural highs and lows throughout the day and night.
Not sleeping well will not effect your cortisol levels too much as long as you stay in bed and rest, ie follow your normal pattern of rising at your usual time.
