Bossbirds, you should have tests for ferritin, vitamin D, B12 and folate as whether to supplement will depend on your levels.
You can supplement vitamin C and magnesium without testing. Magnesium citrate or glycinate will be better absorbed than mag oxide. If you supplement magnesium you should also supplement zinc to keep balanced. 200mcg Selenium or 3 x Brazil nuts are thyroid friendly.
All tablets contain fillers.
Amazon is a good source for supplments thyroiduk.org.uk/tuk/go_sho...
Hi thanks I've heard that Brazil nuts don't give you enough selenium and that unless you get supplements that are natural then they do more harm than good see Dr johnsons site I could do with a good liver detox that's not full of chemicals too
Natural, with no fillers - that's food.
If you live in an area where the sun is not strong - ie, a country with a high latitude - or work so that you can't get out into the sun at lunch time - then you need D3 supps for the six colder months of the year because you can't get enough of that from food.
The rest - test for deficiencies. And observe your symptoms closely and think about the symptoms and illnesses of your parents and grandparents in case you can see a pattern of illness which you may have inherited. Everyone is different, so there can be no such thing as a simple list. It is very confusing, I agree, and the tests are not always helpful.
