Thank you for the link , I have been under for over 20 years, have had radio active iodine in the 90's. I am on 75mcg of levothyroxine, constantly cold, arguing with my partner over the thermostat in the house !! I feel in going mad, forgetting important dates, brain fog 😁😁😁

Post your latest thyroid bloods, including the reference ranges.

Do you take your levo with water only, 30 mins to an hour before food?

What are your iron, ferritin & B12 levels like?

I take my meds as soon as I get up with juice. I make my own juice and have been putting spinach kale etc and wondering if this is counteracting? I have always just accepted my thyroid bloods, but not this time, it's now affecting my work. 😁😁 thanks so much for all this help 💕

Hi Sarah

It could very well be having an affect!

Food can affect absorption by up to 40%.

I would suggest trying taking it with water only for a few weeks to see if it makes a difference.

Keep a dairy of how you are feeling.

Or you could try taking thyroxine at night just before bed. But need to have not eaten or drunk anything for at least an hour before or after you take it.

Many endocrinologists now recommend to try taking Levo at night as it seems to suit some people. Made a huge positive difference for me.

Also "greens" like broccoli are not recommended to eat regularly if you have thyroid problem as they can affect thyroxine uptake. spinach & kale are in same category. See this link (and many others - just Google thyroid spinach or thyroid kale)

No, they Don't affect thyroxine uptake, they affect iodine uptake by the thyroid gland. And they are called goitrogens. :)

Thanks for that. I have been reading up on armour, is this better to take than levothyroxine ? I'm considering asking my doctor this afternoon to be put on this for a while ?

Armour suits some people, T3 only suits some people, even Levo suits some people! And the only way to find out if it suits you is to try. I know a lot of people think that Armour is better because it's 'natural', but that doesn't always apply.

Thanks for that... I'm fed up being panned off with "your normal" , sleeping from 2100hrs until 0630 this morning and feeling like sleeping for a week does not sound normal to me ggrrrr 😁😁
