Does anyone know if i can get a prvate ultrasound done?

You probably need a private gp to refer you. If you are in London i can recommend a private gp

There are quite a number of private ultrasound services. Some of them are operated by NHS ultrasonographers - with permission from hospitals. No referral necessary.

The one I tried to contact was very clear about their service, etc., but never responded! Wish you better luck.

Thankyou both of you...I'll do some research and come back if I need to. My surgery say its not necessary and I can't get a diagnosis......tsh consistantly over 4 with low t4. Lots of pain in neck but dr says probably due to reflux.....it's not.....I don't have enough acid.....he prescribed them anyway!!

If you have any more ideas I'de be greatful as I'm not as upbeat as I may sound!

I would start with the thyroid tests and thyroid antibodies testing.

Hi yes, you can but you will need a referral from any doc. Shop around as prices vary.

I recommend joining e-med. Dr Poupalos there will do you a referral to the private hospital of your choice. I've just had mine done after he did a referral for me.
