Hello, I am new to this forum. I joined because of confusing symptoms and reactions to dose change...and of course feeling fed up and lousy!

I just wanted to say how helpful people's comments have been.

Different posts have been very informative and given me tools to visit the GP and require further information.

I have developed a love hate relationship with thyroxine. Too little or too much can make one quite ill!

You are right - some people do very well on levothyroxine but I am another who didn't. In fact I felt far worse and improved when some T3 was added. I now take T3 only and am fine. Unfortunately some doctors will not prescribe some T3 even on a trial basis.

Do you get the same make of levothyroxine each time from the pharmacy as sometimes different fillers/binders can affect us?

Always get a print-out from the surgery of your thyroid blood test results with the ranges for your own records and so you can post if you have a query.

When a blood test is due, leave a gap of approx 24 hours between your last dose of levo and the test. Also have it as early as possible as that's when the TSH is highest and also fast.
