Just had my first batch of post-starting T3 results. Not got fT3 yet but TSH has come back with a negative value. How on earth is this possible? How can you measure something that isn't there?

Hose, Under 0.01 is often called zero or undetectable. I have had TSH 0.001 result.

This was definitely minus 0.0 something!

Are you absolutely sure it didn't have:

<0.01

That is, less than 0.01 (or some other number).

Given that the results were relayed by a receptionist I suppose it's a possibility, but she did seem very sure.

Could it just be a typo? I'm totally convinced the decimal point was in the wrong place on my last TSH test.

thyroid meds can suppress TSH and so can a pituitary problem.
