fml for dry eyes ?
Some dry eyes are due to a vitamin A deficiency. Maybe you could check that out.
Hi, I'm not sure what fml is but I use various gels and drops. Not found anything that really works yet. Thanks for the Vit A info, I will try it and see if it helps.
I'm taking so many supplements I rattle when I walk, ha ha!
What is ml?
Like Sewnso I use various drops and gels - always additive free - doesn't matter so much what I use as how frequently throughout the day I use them - has to be lots of times.
A hot squeezed out facecloth held over your eyes feels very good too or you can buy an 'eye bag' that you microwave but I prefer the hot facecloth.
Had to look that up:
FML eye drops (fluorometholone)
How does it work?
FML eye drops contain the active ingredient fluorometholone, which is a type of medicine called a corticosteroid (or steroid). Corticosteroids are used for reducing inflammation.

Knowing nothing of what is wrong with your eyes, I cannot comment on their appropriateness for you.
What many people here have used are the various preservative-free products which lubricate the eyes. For example, I used Lacrilube overnight. (Cheap and available without prescription), and ViscoTears in single-dose units (over ten pounds for 30 vials and available without prescription). Others have reported they got on well with various other products.
Washing eyes with diluted baby bath helps some people. (Some baby shampoos contain ingredients which can cause irritation.)
(Even if you can currently tolerate preservatives, experience of many suggests that over time there is increasing sensitivity to them. Best avoided if possible.)
Hi Usual treatment is artificial tears, preservative free ones and they are used permanently.

Hi, I use fml drops, they have as has been mentioned above a steroid ingredient in them. I found them excellent drops personally for me as my eyes were so dry it felt like i was blinking on cut glass at times. 2 years later i still have them on prescription but only use when I feel they are absolutely necessary and eyes become itchy or very sore and I use hylotears all other times. I have tried many types of eye drops but personally for my eyes fml and hylotears are what suit me. Hope that assists you and good luck.
Hi, I've been using Rapitil eye drops for years before my thyroid diagnosis as it was assumed I'm allergic to my dog, I now wonder if this was a misdiagnosis. Either way they seem to work. Nedocromil sodium if that means anything to anyone?!
I use optimel imported from Australia costs 12£ made of manuka Honey, it resolved all of my symptoms completely and is preservative free.
Won't suggest use steroids, it can cause glaucoma
