Susie, can you get a FT3 blood test? Hard to advise you to increase dose without knowing your level.

Susie, it will have been peak level in your blood then so I think they would have told you if you were overmedicated.

I did not think of that ,but they were so busy and more concerned I wasnt having a heart attack they did not really bother with thyroid.

Having said that they were very good and I am reassured all is right with my heart.I will ask gp on monday about bloods anfd repost then .Thanks for support again.

I take approx the same amount of T3 as you, once daily and I am well. That doesn't mean that people need identical doses. Are your vitamins/minerals optimum - if not they can also cause symptoms.

I also take betaine with pepsin when at mealtimes, particularly when eating protein. If hypo usually our stomach acid is low which can gives us stomach problems.

This is an excerpt from the last question on the page:

And finally, why do I specify that the typical patient use one full dose of non-timed-release Cytomel for life? Because extensive testing has shown that this is safe, effective, and most economical—when used within the context of our entire protocol.

I would rather take t3 all in one go ,but could only tolerate 10 mcg at a time,so slowly increased to 30 by doing 10 10 and 10.I am keen to increase by 5 mcg at a time. Will wait till Monday to see gp about bloods and try and raise then. Thanks for ongoing support.

If you're having symptoms which might be due to the T3, it's best if you have a blood test. Quite a few people split their doses. I hope you find a perfect dose soon.

Its years ago now, but when I started T3 the muscle pains, in arms especially, were so bad I had to stop. Dr Skinner was convinced it wasn't the T3 so I tried again after a month or so, same response but this time I stopped as soon as the pain started. It took a year before I could raise my arms above my shoulders!

I switched to NDT which was and is problem free.
