Hi and Welcome ! It would be good if you have copies of your latest Thyroid blood tests. Even though you are on a good level of T4 - you may not be converting into the ACTIVE thyroid hormone T3. So the tests required are - TSH - FT4 - FT3 and thyroid Anti-bodies - Anti-TPO and Anti-Tg.

For your Levo to work well you also need good levels of - B12 - Ferritin - Folate - Iron - VitD. I am suspecting your FT3 to be low in range and all the above Vitamins and Minerals. All the above can make a huge difference to your wellbeing.

Your symptoms are often linked to low thyroid hormones - T3 in particular.

Am not medically trained - just a fellow sufferer :-) Please keep asking questions and lots of helpful people here will answer them for you. The journey to wellness can be bumpy but one worth travelling. You will learn a great deal from this forum......

You ask the Receptionist.

It is your right to have copies of your test results. If they ask - you say you wish to monitor your own progress. It is good to get into the habit of having copies so when you post here you can be more informative.

The Thyroid UK website - linked above - will also give you valuable information on everything you will need to know about Understanding test results - and lots of other helpful things. There is also a Library where you can borrow books for the price of the postage.

Am afraid you will not be offered much from GP's today - you have to do your own reading and learning and generally manage your own health.

I live in Crete so we keep all our own records :-)

Hi, I have the same problem with weight and recently saw my endocrinologist. He has told me that there are a minority of thyroid sufferers who cannot convert T4 to T3 and has suggested I take T3 separately. However, in his next sentence he told me that I cannot get this on the NHS and have to pay for it myself. In my desperation to feel better and lose weight I agreed to the private prescription but when I took it to the pharmacy they said that three months supply would cost me £568.00 - ouch!

Apparently there is no evidence that this works so the NHS will not fund it, can anyone tell me where I can get it any cheaper or do I have to go abroad?

I suggest you tslk to your doctor or endo.

I get natural thyroid from online Walmart pharmacy. I cannot take levothyroxine in any form because I have shortness of breath and many symptoms that cause me to be non-functional like brain fog.
