Hi, haven't been in here for a while but wondered if anyone could give me some advice, I have been on hrt for 6 months and everything was ok haven't had periods for 18mths but when I started on hrt I bleed for a few days then it settled but the last 2 weeks I have been bleeding a lot with clots, have been putting off going to the doctors but can't put up with this anymore I am so tired don't know if it's down to the loss of blood, I am hypo and am on 100mcg a day, any advice would be great.

You need to make an appointment to have a blood test for your thyroid hormones. Leave approx 24 hours between your last dose of thyroid hormones and the blood test and have test as early as possible. Get a print-out with the ranges and post on a new question. Take levo afterwards.

I think you might be undermedicated now, particularly as you're experiencing 'female problems' which is common with hypothyroidism (undertreated/untreated) particularly if your GP is more interested in the whereabouts of the TSH rather than your clinical symptoms.

Mummytina,

I dont know about HRT but I do know that my Levothyroxine dose determines how normal my periods are. You might be thyroid hormone under medicated and find a bit more thyroxine sorts heavy bleeding out. Doctors tend to keep us under medicated which can have profound effect on our poor bodies.

Remember the endocrine glands all work together

Once you have posted your thyroid hormone results, others will comment and give you some seriously good advice.

Meanwhile look after self and believe this will be sorted soon.

Non bioidentical HRT (the usual sort) can be very toxic and is impliacated in lots of diseases. So I should get everything checked as soon as possible. If you can get off the horse pee (and synthetic fake progesterone?) it would probably help. The horse pee isn't as bad as the progestin.

But the horse pee is very cruel to horses!
