I have severe redness of my nose. I am trying a liquid product for spider veins; but it doesn't help. It's only a cosmetic problem, but I'm desperate!!! Any solutions? Thanks!

I have this on my cheeks. Years ago I saved up and had laser treatment to clear it but it has all come back again over the years. I'm sure it is yet another effect of under medicated hypothyroidism.

I use Estee Lauder Triple Cover foundation and it works treat. Even waterproof!

I do sympathise with you bhohstadt.

Rosacea? I keep mine under control with seabuckthorn moisturizing lotion and I use a mineral based foundation. This stuff actually protects the skin from the environment and a lot of the rosacea gets worse from wind, sun, etc. It's been years now since a nasty flare up.

gabkad Which mineral based foundation do you use? Thanks!

'mineral based' is a marketing term. Any foundation that contains titanium dioxide will work. This helps not only to cover over the dilated capillaries but is also anti-bacterial. Only use as much as you need and make sure you wash the face before application. Put on moisturizer. Let it dry then the foundation. Clean face before bed. Put on seabuckthorn based moisturizer in morning and evening.

Revlon Colorstay really helps to cover the red and not irritating.

Seabuckthorn has been marketed for some time for rosacea.

Flower007, Thanks so much for your reply about rosacea. I have hypothyroidism also. I take Rx..synthroid for it; however, my hair is also coming out & I think this is a result of hypothyroidism. I think it's time for a doctor visit! Thanks! Brenda

It's a symptom of long-term un/Under-treated hypo. What do you levels look like? What and how much are you taking for thyroid?

I used to have this all over my cheeks. My face was a mess, with acne thrown in at 50 years of age! But it's gone now I'm optimally treated on T3 only - my 'drug' of choice.

I had rosacea for a couple of years either side of my nose and the best thing ever that worked for me was Savlon, I've never had it since, sounds unusual but give it a try.

Thanks for responding! Where can I get Savlon? I have hypothyroidism & I think the meds I take may to be increased. The rosacea is really bad on my nose--very self-conscious of; make-up is not a big help!

Assuming this is Savlon cream, almost anywhere in the UK! Pharmacies and many supermarkets, etc.
